NEWSLETTER AIMS TO HELP BUSINESSES PREVENT CRIME
September 28 2006
Businesses in Gloucester are set to benefit from the latest crime prevention
news, thanks to a new newsletter.
Gloucester Crime and Disorder Reduction partnership (CDRP) are following
up their successful Business Security and Crime Prevention exhibition
run earlier this year by producing the information leaflet for local
companies.
In it businesses can find the latest crime prevention news and updates
on recent initiatives, as well as suggestions for improving security
and contact details for companies offering crime prevention advice and
services.
“Gloucestershire Constabulary is committed to supporting businesses
in the county and to reducing all crime and its impact on the community,”
said Pc Kevin Ireland, Crime Reduction Officer for the Forest and Gloucester
division.
“Protecting your staff, premises and profits from crime makes
very good business sense, as crime costs businesses millions of pounds
each year.
“The CDRP is committed to ensuring the city is a safer place
to work and visit, and this is one of the many ways we hope we can provide
practical help and advice to large companies and small businesses alike.”
According to the British Chamber of Commerce, the cost of crimes against
the business community is estimated at £19 billion a year, and
64 per cent of businesses have been a victim of crime in the last 12
months.
Businesses can contact their local Crime Reduction Officer by calling
Gloucestershire Police on 0845 090 1234, who can provide individual
impartial crime prevention advice.
