Moreland residents are being urged to come along and put their community on the map this Saturday at a special fun day.
Where: Calton Junior School Field at 12 noon- 4pm- opened by Mayor of Gloucester Sue Blakeley at 12 noon.
Attractions at the event include:
- Animals from St James and Robinswood Hill Farm
- Children’s Teacup Ride
- Climbing Wall
- Inflatable Slide
- Face Painting
- Marble Painting
- Cake/Biscuit Decorating
- Balloon Modelling and Magic
- Circus Skills
- Giant Table Skittles
- Dinosaur Race
- Brass Instruments Workshop
- Plants, cakes and Bric a Brac
- Guide Dogs for the Blind (tombola)
- Treasure Hunt
- Fire Engine, ambulance and Camera Safety Partnership
- Seat Belt Sled (experience an impact at 8mph)
Moreland on the Map has been organised by Gloucester Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP), the City Council Neighbourhood Partnership’s Team and the Police Linden Safer Communities Team with the aim of further increasing community spirit in the area.
Moreland in the Map is being held as a community consultation event in the run up to the Not in My Neighbourhood Week, which will be held 15-21 October as part of the Changing Lives Making Communities Safer Home Office campaign. This Campaign aims to demonstrate that significant progress is being made to tackle crime, drugs, alcohol and anti-social behaviour. Over the last three years, crime has reduced dramatically in the area with vehicle crime and robbery down by approximately 70%.
