DRINK & DRUGS……IT’S YOUR CHOICE
7th June 2005
On Tuesday 14th June from 10am the Gloucester Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership are hosting a free information event called ‘DRINK & DRUGS……IT’S YOUR CHOICE’ in the Cinema at the Guild Hall, Eastgate Street, Gloucester.
Come and find out about the effects of drink and drugs on you and your family, what support is available for you and what the Police are doing about drugs in Gloucester. Leaflets, posters and exhibits will be on display to help you find out information on drugs and alcohol and what the law says. You will be able to talk to drug and alcohol workers, homeless advisors, members of the Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership; you can even talk to FRANK*!
The replica drugs case will be on display, showing what different drugs look like with information on what they do and the long/short term effects on health. The purpose of the day is to raise awareness of the Partnership's work and the various projects regarding Substance Misuse Services in Gloucester.
The Partnership wishes to work actively with YOU in YOUR community to tackle YOUR concerns about the effects of drink and drugs.
Tackling the problem of drink and drugs is very much about partnership working and working with the community, we are committed to this, but we can’t assist if we don’t know about problems in your area.
Paul Smith, on behalf of the Drug and Alcohol Action Team said “this is an excellent opportunity for residents of Gloucester to see what services are available to support people whose lives are affected by drugs and alcohol”.
So come and see what's on offer for you.
